Nirjala Ekadashi -निर्जला एकादशी

Nirjala Ekadashi is also known as Pandava Bhima Ekadashi, or Pandava Nirjala Ekadashi. This name is derived from Bhima, the second and strongest of the five Pandava brothers, heroes of the Hindu epic Mahabharata.

It is said to give the fruits of 24 Ekadashi observed throughout the year. Complete fast is observed on this day with even water not being taken. People observe strict fast and offer pooja to Lord Vishnu to ensure happiness, prosperity and forgiveness of transgressions and sins.

निर्जला एकादशी का व्रत करने से स्वास्थ्य, दीर्धायु, सामाजिक सुख तथा मोक्ष फल की प्राप्ति होती है। इस व्रत में पानी पीना वर्जित होता है। निर्जला एकादशी का व्रत करने से 24 एकादशी का व्रत का पुण्य एक साथ मिल जाता है।
