MEANING:Address to God,
You are my mother, my father, my brother, and my friend.
You are my knowledge and my only wealth.
You are everything to me and the God of all Gods.

मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय ।
ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥

Lead us from Unreality to reality,
Lead us from darkness(Ignorance) to light(Spritual Knowledge),
Lead us from the fear of death
To knowledge of immortality.

सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः सर्वे सन्तु निरामया।
सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु मा कश्चित् दुःखभाग् भवेत्।।

मूर्खा यत्र न पूज्यते धान्यं यत्र सुसंचितम् ।
दंपत्यो कलहं नास्ति तत्र श्रीः स्वयमागतः ॥
Where the fools are not honoured, where food is well kept, where there is no tension between spouses – Prosperity comes naturally to such houses. Obviously.
न चोरहार्य न राजहार्य न भ्रतृभाज्यं न च भारकारि ।
व्यये कृते वर्धति एव नित्यं विद्याधनं सर्वधनप्रधानम् ॥
The wealth of knowledge can not be stolen by thieves, nor can be confiscated by a king, need not be split among brothers (unlike the fathers material wealth). Neither is it a burden. It increases when spent daily. Hence the wealth of knowledge is the best wealth of all.
परो अपि हितवान् बन्धुः ,बन्धुः अपि अहितः परः ।
अहितः देहजः व्याधिः , हितम् आरण्यम् औषधम् ॥ – हितोपदेश
The person with whom we have no relation, but who helps us in our difficult times is our Real relative/brother. In contrast the person who may be our relative/brother (With whom we have blood relations) but who always does bad things for us should not be considered as our relative/brother. Just like a disease which is in our own body does so much harm to us while the medicinal plant which grows in forest far off does so much of good to us.
सत्यं ब्रुयात् प्रियम् ब्रुयान्नब्रुयात् सत्यमप्रियम् ।
प्रियम् च नानृतम् ब्रुयादेषः धर्मः सनातनः ॥
Speak truth; speak what is pleasant to others. Do not tell truth that is not pleasant. Similarly, do not speak untruth even though pleasant.
