Water Conservation

Have you ever wondered why water conservation is so important? Even though the Earth is covered with 75% of water, 65% is inaccessible; and the only way to put it to use is through desalination, which is very expensive and time consuming. The reason many people use the teachings of water conversation is coverage from drought. Water is the primary source of life. Our bodies are made of mostly water, and need water to function. Basically, without water we will die. The effect of no water is called drought, and that is a growing fear in many places.  Have you ever wondered why water conservation is so important?

The effect of no water is called drought, and that is a growing fear in many places.  Water conservation is the way people change their lifestyle/actions of pursue keeping water at a steady/normal level in their area. Some ways to promote our water conservation is; store water, recycle water, use less water, try not to use surplus amounts. One example, is if you water your lawn. To conserve water, people input systems like drip-irrigation systems to reduce the amount of water that goes into their plants.

If people don’t conserve water, they can bring many negative effects, such as drought. In California, people and the weather, brought dry conditions causing them to declare a drought. This is the fourth year (2015) that the drought has been going on, and California, with the leadership of Governor Jerry Brown, have been issuing laws to hopefully improve their state-wide water conservation status. One law states that residents have to use 25% less water than normal, and another proclaims that if the residents exceeds a certain level of water usage, than they will face a fine which can be about $1000.

In conclusion, water conservation is very important. It helps people save the biggest life resource in the world. It can help prevent drought, which is very harmful, and can bring grueling laws. There are many ways to prevent water problems, and they have been proven beneficial.
